The thermal comfort team is part of the heat
transfer group at the mechanical engineering department
of the AUB. In a quick at our work and what we
do, the model of human interaction with the surrounding
environment from a thermal point of view is tackled;
in order to optimize the performance and conditions
while maintaining thermal comfort. The progress

What is meant by thermal comfort?
“Thermal Comfort is that
condition of the mind that experesses satisfaction
with the thermal environment” (ASHRAE Handbook
of fundamentals, Ch. 8, 1997)
Comfort occurs when body temperatures are held
within narrow ranges, skin moisture is low, and
the physiological effort of regulation is minimized.
