Our branchs main goal is to be the most active student branch in Region 8. Our mission is to show students how to fall in love with engineering and show them what engineers do after graduating while training them in a  fun, friendly, active and serious environment.

As mentioned above we have very high standards and very important missions.

Our Mission

  • Excite students about science, engineering, and technology
  • Endow students with useful knowledge through various programs, conferences and other fun activities
  • Creating a world wide social network to make our engineering students meet other engineering students from Region 8 and all around the world
  • Let the world know about the American University of Beirut Faculty of Engineering

Objectives and Aims for 2009/2010

As a branch, we always aim to provide a range of presentations, events, and activites to our members, and to bridge the gap between the student body and the professional organisation.

In addition to these aims, below are our specific aims for the academic year 2008/09:

  • Promote IEEE membership and participation within the University as a whole
  • Encourage current IEEE student members to renew membership after graduation
  • Participate in IEEE regional activities
  • Establish solid connections with the IEEE Lebanon Section
  • Recruit volunteers to carry effective activities
  • Increase the quantity and quality of careers and enterprise development activities
  • Promote interactivity through field trips and competitions
  • Increase the activity of the Women in Engineering Chapter
  • Collaborate with other schools and societies within the University

Committee Meetings

The committee holds regular meetings to discuss a wide variety of topics including future events, branch aims, progress, challenges and finances.
